PROJECT OVERVIEW

TBJP is a textile manufacturer producing printed fabric rolls across multiple designs, widths, and GSM (grams per square meter) specifications. As their catalog grew, off-the-shelf Odoo fields and labels could no longer capture the details that matter most in textile production — which print, which design season, what width, and what GSM each roll represents. Serynto partnered with TBJP to extend Odoo with textile-specific data fields, a custom fabric label format, and automated invoice documentation.

THE CHALLENGE

TBJP needed a way to capture and manage the details that actually define a textile product — details standard Odoo simply has no fields for. Key challenges included: tracking fabric-specific attributes like Print ID, Design Year, GSM, and Width in a searchable, reportable way; printing barcode labels sized to their actual 50mm x 75mm label stock, which no default Odoo format supported; displaying running meterage instead of price on labels, since fabric is sold by length, not unit count; linking each label back to the correct packaging batch for traceability; and giving customers a clear visual reference to the prints and fabrics they'd ordered, since invoice line items alone left room for confusion.

OUR SOLUTION

Serynto developed two custom Odoo modules covering the full product lifecycle. A new product data model added Print ID, Design Year, GSM, and Width directly to the product form, fully searchable and groupable across the catalog. A purpose-built 50mm x 75mm barcode label report was engineered from scratch, with the company logo, a barcode rotated to fit the narrow label, and live running meters printed in place of price. The label report was connected to stock package data so each label automatically pulls the correct package/lot reference for full traceability. Finally, an invoice extension was built to auto-generate a clean, three-per-row photo gallery of every invoiced product appended directly to the invoice — giving customers instant visual confirmation of their order with zero manual work from TBJP's team.

OUR PROCESS

Discovery & Requirements Mapped TBJP's fabric roll workflow — from print design to packaging to invoicing — to identify exactly where standard Odoo fell short.
Data Model Design Extended the product model with Print ID, Design Year, GSM, and Width, and made each field searchable and filterable across the catalog.
Custom Label Engineering Built a new 50mm x 75mm label report with correct paper format, rotated barcode layout, and live roll meterage in place of price.
Package Traceability Linked each label to the most recent stock package/lot, so labels always reflect the correct batch reference.
Invoice Automation Developed a QWeb extension that auto-appends a photo gallery of invoiced products to the back of every customer invoice.
Testing & Rollout Validated label printing against TBJP's physical label stock and confirmed invoice output with real customer orders before go-live.
